SUMMARY: The Clinic Manager provides operational supervision and ongoing support to staff in an individual health center. Coordinates primary care teams and supervises all center-based primary care support staff. Provides day-to-day oversight and management of systems, workflows and operations including front and back office

                                                                            

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, mentor, and support the clinical and ancillary clinic team to ensure high-quality community health services.
  • Assign tasks, monitor workloads, complete time records, and ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Conduct team meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
  • Provide guidance on patient care coordination to ensure smooth daily operations.

BASIC REQUIRED ABILITY

PUBLIC RELATIONS/ADVANCED INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Addresses clients by name; smiles when talking to clients, physicians. Peers, and families; answers the telephone courteously and promptly; identifies self and department when answering the telephone using pleasant voice tone/verbiage; possesses excellent listening skills; interacts with clients and peers.  The Clinic Manager may also present to the community on health issues to include items such diabetic foot care, understanding hypertension and importance of diet and nutrition. 

JOINT COMMISSION: Responsible for helping to prepare, achieve, and maintain accreditation by the Joint Commission by serving on the various performance improvement subcommittees individual employees are directly involved in the generation or modification of policies & procedures that enable KMC to provide continuously improving healthcare. Be able to take an active role in a all KMC emergency codes.

COOPERATION: Must be a self-starter; seeks solutions; accepts constructive criticism; willing to adjust to changes; loyal to K’ima:w Medical Center. Supports the development and implementation of Primary Care Teams and supports all K’ima:w Medical Center staff.

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • AGE-Specific Competence: Must demonstrate the knowledge & skills necessary to: 1) provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients; 2) of the principles of growth and development appropriate; 3) to assess and interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s needs & provide the appropriate care needed by KMC’s Life Stage Patient Groups. Life Stage Patient Groups are defined as infants, toddlers, preschool children, school age children, adolescents, young adults, middle-age adults, and late-stage older adults.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to develop positive relationships with staff.
  • Knowledge and experience with insurance carriers including facility and medical records audits; with up to date knowledge of EHR preferably RPMS
  • Develops procedures in conjunction with staff and CCO/CMO
  • Knowledge of Hoopa community, cultural awareness and sensitivity.

 

  • Demonstrated ability to teach and audit various discipline charting responsibilities.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing and demonstrate a high level of listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the provision of primary care services for the underserved and sensitivity working with a variety of people from low-income populations, with diverse educational, lifestyle, ethnic, and cultural origins; disabled, homeless, substance users, and/or physiologically impaired.

  • Adherence to infection control procedures, including but not limited to, standard precautions, temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking and social distancing.
  • Assist and support the CCO, CMO to meet standards of High Reliability.
  • Demonstrated ability using computer applications, including MS Word, Excel and E-mail.
  • Capable of problem solving and managing staff in outpatient or related health care setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all functions and responsibilities as stated above.

 

Essential Responsibilities.

  • Supports the development and implementation of Primary Care Teams and supports all Kimaw staff.
  • Facilitates smooth operations and communications between all Kimaw departments and staff.
  • Develops appropriate organizational structure(s) and weekly staffing schedules for  and maintains master calendar.
  • Oversees daily operations, including patient and work flow, resolves problems, seeking support from CCO as needed.
  • Liaison between the Center and Administrative services.
  • Addresses patient complaints and grievances.
  • Develops procedures in conjunction with staff and CCO/CMO.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with community partners
  • Additional duties, as assigned by CCO/CMO. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a related field highly preferred.

Experience:  Three years health center management experience in an outpatient or related health care setting. Direct experience in the provision of medical clinic services while supervising up to 15 employees and providing support to medical providers.
