GOALS FOR THE POSITION: Successfully monitor grant and contract compliance and reporting for K’ima:w Medical Center (KMC). Position audits grant goals and contract scopes of work. 

 

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the CFO, the compliance officer will be responsible for making sure grant obligations across all departments are fulfilled.  This position will communicate with staff regarding upcoming deadlines, make sure deliverables are met, and assist staff with reporting requirements. Additionally, this position will manage K’ima:w’s database of contracts for notification of both leadership and employees of upcoming contract expirations in order to best plan for next steps. Accomplish some land title changes.

 

FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Identify grant goals and deliverables, evaluate, and determine KMC reporting required for grants.
    1. Report on goals and deliverables for grants received by government agencies, private organizations, foundations, and other possible funding sources.
    2. Establish, maintain and update a comprehensive tracking system regarding KMC contracts of all types, including service, employment, and external agreements data to be monitored for scope of work delivery and expiration/renewal options (include “evergreen” agreements and anniversary dates).
    3. Collaborate with K’ima:w Medical Center managers and other outside entities and companies in reporting and delivery activities.
    4. Assist in drafting and coordination of contract agreements and proposals. Plan for a timely submission of contract renewals, extensions, and expiration/closeout.
    5. Submit grant applications and contracts with manager assistance and input.
    6. Assist in monitoring existing grant compliance with grant goals and finances. This includes contract agreements and completion of scope of work and project closeout.
    7. Analyzes monthly monitoring of grant expenditures and revenues and communicates monitoring status to management. Keeps a timetable system of tracking for contracts for delivery of scope work and contract expiration/closeout.
    8. Reviews grant performance measures and contract scope of work.
    9. Explains grant policies and procedures. Explains elements of contracts and operation of contract.
    10. Performs research on KMC land titles and initiates process to convert land from fee to trust.
    11. Assist with special projects as assigned.
    12. Performs other duties as necessary

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and writing skills.
  • Must meet one of the following: (1) Bachelor’s degree in a public administration, business, finance, economics, accounting or related field and 1 year experience working in grants compliance or grant writing; OR (2) Associates’ degree in a public administration, business, finance, economics, accounting or related field and 2 years experience working in grants compliance or grant writing; OR (3) no degree and 4 years experience working in grants compliance or grant writing.
  • High proficiency with the use of Excel, Word, calendar applications, and email. Testing prior to or during interview may be conducted.
