Job Title: Grants Technician

Summary: Under the supervision of the CFO, the grants technician will be responsible for supporting the grants compliance officer and collecting data and surveys to ensure compliance with grant requirements. The grants technician will also support fiscal accountants in, recording grants revenue and reclassing expenses as needed.

Functions and Responsibilities:
 
  1. Manage the data collection process to ensure compliance with grant requirements, including collecting surveys for grant funding sources (such as Title VI, etc.).
  2. Provide support for the grants compliance officer in fulfilling their duties.
  3. Support submitting grant applications and contracts with manager assistance and input.
  4. Collaborate with K'ima:w Medical Center managers and other outside entities and

companies in reporting and delivery activities.

  1. Support in maintaining and updating a comprehensive tracking system regarding KMC contracts of all types.
  2. Analyzes monthly monitoring of grant expenditures and revenues and communicates monitoring status to grants compliance officer.
  3. Reviews grant performance measures and contract scope of work with grants compliance officer oversight.
  4. Attend grant activity trainings to ensure requirements are met and to photograph

achievements.

  1. Attend necessary/required grant meetings, as requested.
  2. Scan grant documents into Square9 (electronic filing system), as requested.
  3. Assist within Fiscal department where applicable.
  4. Maintain collaborative working relationships with other program members and staff.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with K'ima:w Medical Center's scope of work.

 

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Proficient skills in operation of computer, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of computers, servers and terminals.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and common technology (EMAIL, SCAN).
  • Possess good listening skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the Hoopa Valley Tribe. Personal Vehicle must also be cleared.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • High proficiency with the use of Excel, Word, calendar applications, and email
  • Strong organizational, analytical and writing skills.
  • Must meet one of the following: (1) Bachelor's degree in a public administration, healthcare administration, business, finance, economics, accounting or related field and 1 year experience working in grants compliance or grant writing or a similar field; OR (2) Associates' degree in a public administration, healthcare administration, business, finance, economics, accounting or related field and 2 years experience working in grants compliance or grant writing or a similar field; OR (3) no degree and 3 years experience working in grants compliance or grant writing or a similar field.
