
Jennifer (Jenny) Jackson is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) who has returned to K’ima:w Medical Center to provide nutrition and diabetes education services to the community. Jenny is a member of the Yurok tribe and a descendant of the Karuk tribe. Jenny earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) where she also completed a year-long Dietetic internship. Shortly after becoming a Registered Dietitian (RD), she earned certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), now Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). Jenny has been in the nutrition field for over 20 years. During that time, she has gained invaluable experience and insight from a wide variety of clients, ranging from weight loss and Bariatric surgery to Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME). She has a diverse work history, including United Indian Health Services, Humboldt Health Education Alliance, Telemed2U, and more recently Providence St. Joseph Medical Center. She is looking forward to returning to K’ima:w Medical Center and providing her services to the community.
