Substance Abuse & Mental Health Specialist
Dr. Mark Simpson is a licensed clinical and prescribing psychologist with extensive experience in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and integrated behavioral health. He holds dual licensure as a psychologist and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) and maintains both DEA and Controlled Substance licenses.
Dr. Simpson has served in multiple behavioral health leadership and clinical roles with Tsehootsooi Medical Center, Kimaw Medical Center, and the Indian Health Service. His expertise includes treating co-occurring disorders, trauma, mood disorders, and substance use issues, with a strong emphasis on culturally informed and evidence-based interventions.
He also serves as President of the New Mexico Health Professional Wellness Program, a statewide initiative supporting the health and resilience of medical and behavioral health professionals. With more than two decades of experience in direct care, supervision, and program development, Dr. Simpson integrates psychotherapy and psychopharmacology within a compassionate, recovery-oriented, and culturally responsive framework—helping individuals, families, and communities achieve sustainable wellness and resilience.
