Nepistance Shoko, MD, MBA, DABOM. Obesity Medicine Specialist/Internal Medicine
Dr. Nepistance Shoko attended medical school at the Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine/University of Zimbabwe. She worked for the CDC in Botswana on joint research involving the CDC and the Botswana government (BOT/USA Project). After relocating to the USA, she did residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois/Christ Medical Center. Dr Nepistance Shoko is double board-certified in Obesity Medicine and Internal Medicine, and she also holds a master’s in business administration (MBA).
Over the years, Dr Shoko has practiced medicine in both in-patient and out-patient settings. In Oklahoma, she led a multidisciplinary team in the prevention and management of excess weight, diabetes and related complications in a Native American community.
Dr. Shoko has served the K'ima:w Medical Center community for the past year and a half. She values leading and working alongside our multidisciplinary care team to support the health and well-being of our community members by providing patient-centered, compassionate, and culturally respectful care focused on preventing and managing diabetes and promoting healthy lifestyles.
